Multipurpose Sit Pad

(24 customer reviews)

One of the most annoying things when spending time outside is sitting or kneeling on cold, wet ground. There is a solution to this problem… The Multipurpose Sit Pad!

One side is bright orange and the other side is earth tone, so you can choose whether you want to stand out or blend in. Along the edge are attachment loops to clip it to your backpack for safety orange during hunting season. It can also be used for signaling purposes in an emergency to flag down help.

Along one end of the Multipurpose Sit Pad is a Velcro opening that allows you to access the closed cell foam insert inside.  You can even use it as a gathering pouch if you come across some wild edibles. You can fan the flames with it, catch tinder shavings, and more!

  1. FearLurker57

Really comfortable on rocky, slightly sloped surfaces that the regular hunting seats would just keep shifting around too much on.

  2. Lawrence Wiley

I really like this sit pad, I use it as a sit pad and a kneeling pad for my knees.
It also is useful inside my pack to help give extra form and stability. Just a fantastic product, I highly recommend it!

  3. Snowshoe

this is made with sturdy materials and quality craftsmanship. it is a nice piece of gear to put on the wet ground or a log to keep you dry and provide some insulation. This is a solid product, highly recommended

  4. joetterer97

got one for me & one for my son. they work great in the snow for kneeling by the fire or sitting on the snow covered logs. makes winter more enjoyable!

  5. Tony

I love this thing! So simple and useful. Making shavings, sit pad, kneeling pad, it’s just a very versatile piece of kit you didn’t know you needed!

  6. Sidetrack

It wasn’t what I bought it for, but it came in real handy while I was painting the new wheelchair ramp we had just installed in the front of the house. When my son started nailing the roofing material on it, he was bare-kneed and was kneeling on it and turned me down when I offered him the Sit Pad. I tossed it in front of him and he started using it as he worked his way up the ramp.. “I should hae one of these,” he said. He is a minimalist.

  7. Dustin

As a minimalist, I am constantly looking for gear that is maximalist in function.
When I consider a piece of gear like this Sit Pad, I think of it like tent stakes, sure, I can make my own or improvise in the wilderness but how much time and energy do I need to spend to recreate something like this vs how much space and weight it costs to carry.
In the case of a dry soft place to sit or kneel, I think for many adventures, it’s definitely worth the weight and space, even for a self-proclaimed minimalist!

  8. Clayton

I use this sit pad almost every trip to the woods! It has saved my knees and behind numerous times! I love the camo on one side and the bright orange on the other. Great for Hunting and Signaling!

  9. Jared

This is easily one of my favorite pieces of gear. It is big enough that you don’t feel like you’re falling off of it, but it packs nearly flat. It can be folded in half to fit in even small packs. I have used it for sitting, kneeling, preparing tinder, fanning a fire, signaling, keeping my head dry in the rain and more. It opens up, so you can add insulation, I put a sheet of reflectix in mine, but you could also use it as a bag in a pinch. It’s one of the most versatile pieces of gear I own, and it’s built like a tank. I don’t go to the woods without it. Do yourself a favor and get one, too. You won’t regret it.

  10. Adam Credle

I have bought numerous bags and other items from Mr. Jayberry, and have been impressed with them all. From the PSK and Survival Scarf to attaching my Sit Pad to my Hill People gear, this stuff is AWESOME!

A great piece for your kit! Besides a sit pad, it also has many other uses. Well made and I can easily recommend the Tuff Possum Multipurpose Sit Pad …

  12. Mike (verified owner)

Bought for my bull elk hunt. It works great as a sit pad while glassing, a kneeling pad while processing, and I even had an opportunity to use it for a signal panel. My buddies were jealous.

  13. Tim McCarver (verified owner)

Like all the Tuff Possum gear, my sit pad is fantastic! It’s primary function is flawless but it stands out as a multi-tasking beast. Size is perfect and construction is phenomenal! Don’t hesitate to get one for yourself!!

  14. Ken Cardwell (verified owner)

Great reflective value and the other side is very subtle to blend in besides being very cushy to kneel on.

  15. Jason Parker (verified owner)

This is my third TPG sit pad. Not because they’ve worn out but to coordinate with various carry options. I ordered from the very first batch Jay ever made and have used it countless times since. Easy to store and is a MUST have for any trip. Used it in the woods, garage, and gardening among others. Use it to fan a fire. Really one of the best pieces of gear out there. Super durable (Tuff) and washable. Made in the USA. Try it and you’ll no doubt join me as a lifetime Tuff Possum loyal customer.

  16. Charles Quarto (verified owner)

I bought this for my overlanding/off-roading setup because I have a bad knee and kneeling on rough terrain when airing down/up is not fun. This is a huge help! It’s incredibly tough and well made, and doubles as a signal panel if I ever find myself in an emergency. I just stash it behind the headrest in the rear and it’s ready to go when I need it.

  17. Ray (verified owner)

Perfect addition to the hiking back pack or bug out bag. Functional, lightweight and easy to carry.

  18. Bob Mead (verified owner)

My dog is getting older and instead of 5-7 miles daily we’re under 2 now. The sit pad is a welcome addition now that we stop to rest often.

  19. Mike (verified owner)

Love it. Quality is awesome. Makes the outdoors more enjoyable.

  20. Rob Dekker klinkenberg (verified owner)

Awesome piece of gear, fits like a glove in the HPG Umlindi, just fantastic

  21. naturereliance.org (verified owner)

Love the sitpads, I have several so I always have them in all of my kits and vehicles. I use them for gardening, bushcraft, hunting, survival, camping, etc etc etc. These things cannot be beat.

  22. Esten M (verified owner)

This has been a great piece of gear so far. Its first test was on the sharp volcanic rocks of far West TX. The outside material held up great over 5 days of continuous use. My only complaint, if I had one, was that I wish the pad inside was a bit thicker. But this was only when sitting on extremely nasty rocks while glassing. Although it works great on normal ground and rocks.

  23. Ryan M (verified owner)

My Dad bought this for me to use in my truck last Christmas. I’ve used it many times during projects and camping adventures. But, it never came in as handy when I pooped my pants a little and had to literally use it as a “s_it” pad to save my upholstery for the ride home. Couldn’t recommend this product more

  24. Chris McKelvy (verified owner)

Exited to add this to my kit, I haven’t had it in the field yet but, based on review and the quality of the build I know this will out last the egg carton style pad I was using before.
