I really like what I see on my Schackleton EDC Satchel. Haven’t used it yet but will soon. Great quality for sure.

Received my Shackleton EDC 2 weeks ago. Bought it as a gear bag for fishing and it has worked perfectly. Small enough to stay out of the way when casting but large enough to carry a 2 full boxes of flies, 2 pliers, nips, extra line, 2 knives, snack and a water bottle. Solid construction!!! Highly recommend!!
Trevor Greenfield –
Amazing haversack design. I’ve used mine daily for the last two weeks and have to say it is as near to perfect as I have found. Amazing construction, solid stitching, will serve me for a lifetime.

Great bag, great size super quality my new EDC bag!

I needed it to replace my $50 waist/hip/sling pack that I’ve been using for my mini expedition trips with my two dogs. It became very difficult to use the pack, once my new born was added to our wolf pack. I found using two hands to open and close the zippered pockets a difficult to maneuver. Especially while keeping two dogs and a baby boy in check. It was nearly impossible to get things in and out of the pack without dropping something or somebody. I went looking for a compact pack that I could use one handed and easily have it ready or out of the way. It was not easy for me spending $150 for the Shackleton EDC Satchel (and my wife will never know I did…lol). When I received it looked small and simple for the price, but that was the beauty of it. It’s small and it can carry a good load, and it’s simple to use. Is the satchel worth the price I paid? Well I’m not sure… As of yet to find another pack, that will fit my needs, like my Tuff Possum satchel. Every time I’m navigating an 18 month old, and two dogs, with the satchel, it has given me a little peace of mind …

Great bag! Compact size. Ranger buckle is plastic other than that it’s perfect.

I’ve now had this satchel for about a year. I’ve used it daily in that time period for both carrying things at work and whatever adventures I may get into on the weekends. It’s held up incredibly well. I’m thinking of getting one in Black next actually. Great bag, wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend it or buy it again.

Perfect size pack to take along on my adventures, as I go exploring around southern Oregon.

This is possibly the best haversack on the market. I’ve used it countless times in the field and also as an urban bag in Nashville. The single large buckle is far superior to a double buckle closure. I also like the loops on the back allowing for items to be stored on the back.

Very well constructed. Quality material, solid stitching. I use it for my fishing bag; it perfectly fits two Plano 5-20 Prolatch Stowaway cases laid on their side.

The Shackleton is amazing. Perfect for day hikes and more. Quality in every stitch and can’t beat the look! If I could love a bag this would be the one

Earlier this year I decided to try Schackleton EDC Satchel as an every day bag for my office. It works just perfect – keeps a lot of staff, and at the same time stops you to have more than you need. Just a week ago I received 2nd one – in black and I should say it was two best purchases this year. Quality just perfect. So in case anyone still thinking to get this bag or not – the answer is YES. You will never regret about it. For outdoor or city EDC it is just perfect.

Great bag. I use it as a diaper bag and it holds all the normal diaper bag stuff well. I like that I can open it one handed without putting baby down. It also came without any fit and finish/quality control issues. When I buy something brand new, it should be in perfect condition and this was.

The Shackleton satchel is every bit as good as you would expect for the premium price. If you use it every day it is absolutely worth the money. Mine still looks new after using it for around a year every single day. Every aspect of it is well thought out. I love the outside pockets which are perfect for keeping a Bahco Laplander or mora knife in. I normally store my compass in the outside pocket which protects it and keeps it secure. You can store a medium sized cell phone in the pocket as well but beware since it is not padded at all. I broke my phone screen when I dropped my bag on the ground once. I would not change the pocket design at all.
The interior front pockets are also nice and simple. They disappear if you don’t need them and work great if you do.
The strap is a great design! The webbing is wide enough to carry some weight but not bulky. It does not roll or fold like normal cheap straps do. The adjustments you make to the length stay put firmly but are easy to adjust which is magical.
The only thing that has been occasionally annoying is the main buckle which slides on the webbing. I wish there was an easy way to keep it from moving. In practice it is not really an issue. The buckle is relatively thick and sticks out about half in which makes it get caught on my motorcycle panniers when I try to remove it. The buckle can be opened silently which is a huge bonus. It also does double duty as a fidget toy. I can open it lightning fast with only one hand so that is also a huge bonus!
The overall dimensions of the bag are perfect for what I need. I tend to overstuff all my bags and even when I do the satchel still works great. It will fit a Nalgene standing upright with a little room to spare. All my bags must fit a Nalgene so this is awesome!
The interior flaps that keep your stuff from flying out are a necessity and well designed. At first I thought it was a little annoying but now that I have used it daily for almost a year I would not change anything. The bonus is that you can unbuckle the flaps and fold them down inside the bag and they mostly disappear so you can have it both ways. When the flaps are buckeld inside like normal you can snake your stuff around them so they don’t really get in the way.
The inside back panel for the hook and loop is a great addition. I don’t use it for that but it is soft and plenty durable. It never gets in the way and it is awesome to know I can try out different pouches if I wanted to.
The outside of the satchel has the four tabs which I presume are to mount it to anything you want but I suspect it might perfectly dock to my HPG Ute pack. In docking mode you could also fold the main strap inside the bag and out of your way which is very helpful.
The padding on the back is perfect. It is thin so as to not be bulky but adds a lot of comfort when you put too much stuff in it. I never feel stuff through it.
Color selection is awesome! How can you not like Ranger Green!
How it carries:
You can stuff this thing to the brim and it carries pretty well. You can have almost nothing in it and it rides close to your body and disappears. Most bags are only good at one of those, this is good at both. If you stuff it to the brim with a full Nalgene and a bunch of tools and supplies it carries well. Your shoulder will get tired after awhile but that is related to the weight and the single strap not the design of the bag. If you are looking for a satchel this is the best.

Amazing bag. Amazing customer service. I was really impressed with how well-made it is. I use this bag as my every day carry to the office. I’ve gotten compliments and of course I send them here. When I first received the bag, the strap was sewn twisted. I reached out to Tuff Possum and they replaced it with no issues. Made things super easy and I really appreciated that! Amazing all-around!
