This is possibly the best haversack on the market. I’ve used it countless times in the field and also as an urban bag in Nashville. The single large buckle is far superior to a double buckle closure. I also like the loops on the back allowing for items to be stored on the back.

Perfect size pack to take along on my adventures, as I go exploring around southern Oregon.

I’ve now had this satchel for about a year. I’ve used it daily in that time period for both carrying things at work and whatever adventures I may get into on the weekends. It’s held up incredibly well. I’m thinking of getting one in Black next actually. Great bag, wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend it or buy it again.

Great bag! Compact size. Ranger buckle is plastic other than that it’s perfect.

I needed it to replace my $50 waist/hip/sling pack that I’ve been using for my mini expedition trips with my two dogs. It became very difficult to use the pack, once my new born was added to our wolf pack. I found using two hands to open and close the zippered pockets a difficult to maneuver. Especially while keeping two dogs and a baby boy in check. It was nearly impossible to get things in and out of the pack without dropping something or somebody. I went looking for a compact pack that I could use one handed and easily have it ready or out of the way. It was not easy for me spending $150 for the Shackleton EDC Satchel (and my wife will never know I did…lol). When I received it looked small and simple for the price, but that was the beauty of it. It’s small and it can carry a good load, and it’s simple to use. Is the satchel worth the price I paid? Well I’m not sure… As of yet to find another pack, that will fit my needs, like my Tuff Possum satchel. Every time I’m navigating an 18 month old, and two dogs, with the satchel, it has given me a little peace of mind …

Amazing haversack design. I’ve used mine daily for the last two weeks and have to say it is as near to perfect as I have found. Amazing construction, solid stitching, will serve me for a lifetime.

Received my Shackleton EDC 2 weeks ago. Bought it as a gear bag for fishing and it has worked perfectly. Small enough to stay out of the way when casting but large enough to carry a 2 full boxes of flies, 2 pliers, nips, extra line, 2 knives, snack and a water bottle. Solid construction!!! Highly recommend!!
